BATTLE RAIDERS is a top-down extraction shooter set in a modern colosseum. Gladiators fight over valuable resources and rare weapons with the goal to extract their precious loot.

The game explores new ideas in its niche such as random map sector placement and a Twitch integration to engage both streamers and viewers.

Production

After raising a pre-seed investment I led the development of Battle Raiders and got to work with great people from Rabcat (Fortnite, Overwatch, Brawl Stars etc.) and Zeppelin Studio (The Settlers Online – Ubisoft).

We built a high-quality MVP with full multiplayer support (Microsoft Playfab) in 3.5 months and launched the game for testing. Rabcat provided the character models while Zeppelin Studio worked on gameplay mechanics and the MP infrastructure. Aside from the management/business part I was responsible for game design, UX/UI design, level design and 2D/3D asset creation.

Based on feedback I also explored an alternative art style featuring an apocalyptic city, a new inventory concept and a reactive HUD.
